Pinspiration: Stripes + Skirts

Some recent Pinterest inspiration. Mixing striped shirts (one of my favorites) with fun skirts (another favorite). In college my roommate and I would sometimes just pin and pin and pin for hours and hours. I think I got burnt out. But now...I'm back in the game. Follow me here! I need some new peeps to follow ;)

Have a great Monday! It's crazy how much more I enjoy Mondays now that it's Bachelor season :)

For Those Who Plan...

Ok, maybe I'm a huge nerd. One of my favorite things about the start of a new year is having a new planner. I love Gallery Leather and was so excited to see the new gorgeous colors of their Key West collection. They're affordable & you can personalize them. Soo maybe I ordered mine 2 months ago, don't judge. If you haven't gotten your 2013 planer...what are you waiting for?

This year I went with "Honeysuckle"

Hope everyone had a wonderful time ringing in the new year! Happy 2013 :)

Spotlight: Metallics

Just a few sparkly things I'm currently swooning over - does anyone own a pair of Yosi Samra ballet flats? I've heard that they are super comfortable. -O

Spotlight: Neutral Sweaters

1 2 3 4 5

Obviously a fall staple - I usually end up buying quite a few sweaters this time of year. Personally, I like my sweaters to be chunky enough to be warm & cozy, yet not super bulky to avoid adding 5 lbs.

I've had my eye on this Club Monaco sweater but it's a little pricey, so I've been looking for alternatives and I've come up with quite a few that I really love. -O

Spotlight: Ted Baker

This weekend I got the chance to go to Bloomingdales for the family and friends sale. Definitely had no intentions of leaving there with anything, but then I came along Ted Baker's line and loved what he had this season. I immediately fell in love with so many pieces, yet my wallet couldn't handle it all. Just coming out of college I don't have much money to spend on clothes, but I can't help but wanting looking at gorgeous lines like this. I snuck out of there with the sweater on the top that I am completely attached to. Its so warm and cozy with a bit of personality; the rose gold zippers + elbow patches speak for themselves.  It will be great for many more seasons to come (which makes it a great buy in my book!). I also had my eye on this chic white dress with embellished shoulders. And those red leather gloves trimmed in purple, ah-mazing! I found this great peplum coat on his website. I love the bright blue, the shoulders, the collar, the peplum, the structure, soooo basically everything! This mustard peter pan collar top is another item I would love to have in my closet this fall. I might just have to wait awhile for that! Do you guys have any lines that you love this season? -M

Spotlight: College Days

Zella 'Live-In' Leggings: A quality pair of leggings is super important during college. Dress 'em up, dress 'em down, either way...they're comfortable. Perfect for sitting in classes that feel never-ending.

J. Crew Merino Sweater: Whether the weather in your college town is hot & humid or always chilly...a good sweater is a necessity. Why? Classrooms have a tendency to be freezing. Choose a neutral color in a cozy fabric.

Longchamp Le Pliage Large Tote: #1 pick! I honestly could not have gotten through college without this guy. I used mine steadily from freshman to senior year. It holds everything and it goes with everything. I'd recommend investing in a dark color like black or navy. After 4 years, my black Longchamp (that I used nearly every day) shows hardly any wear, whereas my rarely used light pink shows quite a bit.

Hunter Rain Boots: I can't speak on behalf of every college, but our campus was quite big, aka A LOT of walking. For rainy days, rain boots are the only option unless you like wet toes...no thank you.

Ultimate Hair Ties: I've been using these for years now and I honestly have not used a normal hair tie since. These are great because they look cute on your wrist & they're super comfortable in your hair. I never leave home without a few. Perfect for long days spent on campus.

It's so crazy that Mollie and I are not back at Mizzou sitting class right now. We both graduated this past May, and I think I can speak for the both of us when I say...it's weird. While I love not having to study or write papers, I miss seeing my friends every day, walking around campus, and just the entire atmosphere. It's so crazy to think that the college chapter of our lives is officially over & it's even crazier to think about how fast the last 4 years flew by. -O

Spotlight: Online Boutiques

Every once and awhile I stumble upon a new (to me) online shopping website either on Pinterest or another blog. Mickey's Girl & Mikkat Market are two of my latest finds. I also really love Tobi. I love how a lot of the products are super unique. Not to mention, everything is super affordable. The only problem with these online shops is that items run out very quickly. As you can tell, the geometric print dress is already sold out! So if you see something you love, jump on it!

What about you guys? Do you have any favorite online shops? I would love for you to introduce me! -O

Trend Spotting: Open End Bangles

Row 2: t+j Designs // Asos // Gorjana

Open end bangles are PERFECT for layering, which has become so popular lately. I love that these bangles are delicate yet have a little edge to them. Personally I am dying for fleur de lis one - but how cool is the twisted spoon?! What about you guys, have you embraced the open end bangle trend yet?

PS: For more amazing bracelet options (as well as other jewelry) check out INPINK. And you should head over to The Pink Peonies to enter to win a $40 gift certificate from INPINK (100 winners!) You can enter the giveaway until July 31st by clicking HERE and following the instructions! Good luck :)

Trend Spotting: Gold Chains

Chain link necklaces are one of my favorite current trends. I recently picked up the necklace on the left at a local boutique and it has quickly become my go-to statement piece for nights out. What do you guys think about the trend? If gold isn't your color, all three websites have great silver pieces as well. Oh, and the best part? The options above are all reasonably priced under $50! Happy shopping :)
